The Loire river…
According to the season, the Royal wild river proposes you various shows, all magnificent! The winter, its impressive current in the direction of Nantes, the summer its strewed islands and its little sandy beaches.
This free show is only in 10 minutes walk from the hotel La Tonnellerie!
Let your imagination draw the ceaseless flow of hundreds of flat-bottomed boats which use to circulate on the Loire. According to the height of waters and power of winds, the bargemen use to take all the risks so that the goods arrive safe and as quickly as possible…
Biking..
The bike circuit “Loire à vélo” is only 5 minutes away…!
Bicycles are at your disposal for a short tour in the surroundings (maximum 2 hours). On reservation, 5€ per bike.
To get a bike for a longer period, it is possible to rent it by the day with an excellent service provider who can deliver it to you here (reservation essential at least 48 hours in advance).
Walking or running…
The bike circuit “la Loire à vélo” along the river constitutes a magnificent and very flat route for hiking or jogging and offer a natural constant show!
If you walk and go to the left (direction of Orléans) you will follow the Loire to join Beaugency and its castle in 20 minutes.
If you go to the right (direction of Blois) the Loire will show you the direction of bargemen’s small villages that are Lestiou and Avaray.
